...if God is not Sovereign, then God is not God.

"If there is one maverick molecule in all the universe, then God is not Sovereign. And if God is not Sovereign, He is not God."

  1. This quote by Dr. Sproul got me to thinking about something in the news lately, the "mystery" of all the dead birds and fish.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:29 (ESV) Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

So even if we don't know what's going on, God does, and we can trust Him!

  2. Hello Bro. Don,

This is Pete Charpentier from the "God's Word Applied" blog. Thanks for taking the time to send me an encouraging word.

I appreciate the quote you've listed here. I remember reading Sproul's book, "Not a Chance" (I think this is the title if my memory is correct) where he deals with the sovereignty of God and refutes the theory of "chance".

Well, I hope we can stay in touch. Our Church's website is: www.woodlandparkbaptist.org, and you can access my email from the staff page there.

Okay, blessings to you, my Friend (3 John 2)!

    Pete

  3. Thanks for responding, and thanks for the comment, Brother Pete!

I'll certainly be frequenting your www.woodlandparkbaptist.org site to keep up with you.

As a fellow Southern Baptist, I've really been blessed by reading and listening to some of our Presbyterian brothers like Sproul, Boyce, Ryken, Ligon Duncan, C.J.Mahaney, Derek Thomas, etc...They love to Glorify our Sovereign God, and lift His name high!

    Keep in touch!
    Your brother in Christ,
    Don

  4. Why would God bother to create systems? Such as weather, our circulatory system etc. Why do we have hearts? Why wouldn't God just move our blood without one? We are are fearfully and wonderfully made or it is an illusion. Do you believe in gravity? What is it? Ian so sincerely interested in an answer.
    Thanks,
    Kelly
